Dr. Mariel Schofield is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Her passion for bridging the gap along the continuum of acute injury to performance originates from her experience as a type-one diabetic athlete. She grew up in Monrovia, MD, where she competed as a multi-sport athlete lettering in lacrosse and volleyball in high school, to a NCAA division-one athlete at the University of Miami (FL). She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology and Sports Medicine (2014) before continuing to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (2017) both at the University of Miami. 


During her seven years at the University of Miami she developed her skills in exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, and physical therapy under the instruction of several of the top coaches, physicians, athletic trainers, and therapists in the industry. She has advanced training in soft tissue manipulation, movement screening, sports medicine, and manual therapy. Aside from being a certified strength and conditioning coach and emergency medical responder (EMR), her clinical focus includes a comprehensive approach to identifying underlying biomechanical and neurophysiological patterns contributing to injury risk and promoting optimal movement. In addition to facilitating total human optimization, her goal is to provide an educational experience that empowers her clients to play an active role in their personal health management.
