Dr. Ackerman is a native of the Thousand Oaks area and attended Westlake High School, where she lettered in basketball and softball. She completed her undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University (B.S. Kinesiology), where she was captain of their NCAA D1 softball team. She received her doctorate degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Ackerman has honed her skills under the tutelage of several of the top practitioners in the sports medicine field.  Her clinical focus incorporates her keen knowledge of the relationship between joints, muscles and the kinetic chain they create. This is paramount in both correction and prevention of injury.  Dr. Ackerman’s goal is to help her patients bounce back from injury or surgery in the most efficient and effective manner.
